Fatal Glasgow house fire death of Heather Berube – Obituary
One person lost their life in a house fire that erupted Saturday morning in Glasgow.
According to the Glasgow Fire Department, the blaze broke out at 117 Hummingbird Lane, near Lexington Drive. Firefighters entered the residence through the front door and managed to put out the flames.
On Wednesday morning, the Barren County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Heather Berube.
Barren County Coroner Tim Gibson confirmed her identity through dental records, although he was nearly certain of her identity beforehand.
Gibson mentioned that he is still waiting for autopsy and toxicology reports, which typically take about six weeks to be completed.
The cause of Berube’s death remains undetermined.
The Glasgow Police Department has initiated a death investigation.
Glasgow Fire Chief William Rock stated that the cause of the fire is still under investigation by the Kentucky State Fire Marshal’s office.
Rock noted that they are “awaiting the written results of the investigation at this time,” and expressed, “our deepest condolences go out to the family and friends of the deceased.”
The property is still cordoned off with police tape, and a vehicle remains parked in the driveway.
