Fatal Clinton shooting death of Keanan Turner – Obituary
A Clinton man has been convicted following a tragic triple shooting that occurred during what was intended to be a meeting involving him, his former partner, and their child.
Keanan Turner, 34, was found guilty on Thursday of multiple offenses, including first-degree murder in the deaths of Wanda Wright and Ebony Wright. He was also convicted of assault with intent to kill while armed, aggravated assault while armed, attempted first-degree murder of a minor, second-degree cruelty to children, arson, and destruction of property.
The incident took place at an apartment on Good Hope Court SE on April 12, 2021.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia, trial evidence revealed that Turner and Ebony Wright had been in a relationship that ended when she became pregnant. Turner had wanted her to terminate the pregnancy, but she refused, leading to him cutting off communication.

Officials report that after Ebony Wright gave birth and filed for custody and child support, Turner reached out, expressing a desire to meet his child. He subsequently went to her apartment for what was meant to be a family meeting with her, her mother Wanda Wright, her sister, and their child.
An hour later, Turner drew a firearm and fatally shot Ebony Wright in the head, then turned the gun on Wanda Wright, killing her with a shot to the back of the head. Turner then proceeded to a bedroom where he found Ebony Wright’s sister.
As reported by WUSA9 in 2021, the sister was retrieving clothes for the child when she heard gunshots. She took refuge in a closet and pleaded for her life when Turner found her and shot her in the face.

After the shootings, Turner attempted to destroy custody paperwork by setting it on fire, aiming to harm the child. Evidence presented during the trial showed that Turner tried to remove a Ring camera from the apartment’s front door, inadvertently revealing a distinctive tattoo on his arm in the footage.
Despite being critically injured, the sister managed to rescue the child from another room and sought help. Firefighters arriving on the scene found the injured woman clutching the 3-month-old baby.
Turner was apprehended later at his father’s residence in Stafford, where police discovered hundreds of firearms hidden under mattresses and in furniture.
In addition to the violent charges, Turner was convicted of possessing a firearm during the commission of a crime of violence and carrying a pistol without a license. He is scheduled for sentencing on October 14, where he faces a potential life sentence.
