In a recent development, 31-year-old Patrick Anderson from Louisville has been charged with murder following a fatal shooting incident outside Greenwood Elementary on Friday afternoon.
According to the Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD), Anderson faces charges of murder, tampering with physical evidence, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
The incident occurred just after 12:30 p.m. when authorities were called to the scene of a motor vehicle accident at 5800 Greenwood Road, located in the Pleasure Ridge Park neighborhood. Upon arrival, officers discovered a man in a vehicle with a gunshot wound to the head.
The victim was rushed to the University of Louisville Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. Surveillance footage has led to the identification of Anderson, showing him entering the victim’s vehicle at a Circle K on Greenwood Road. Shortly after, the car collided with a pole at Greenwood Elementary. Witnesses reported seeing an individual fleeing from the scene after the crash. Upon inspecting the vehicle, police discovered multiple shell casings.
