The accident occurred when a vehicle plunged off a cliff, falling roughly 300 to 400 feet, as reported by the California Highway Patrol.
First responders were on the scene around 11:40 a.m. on the southbound lanes of Highway 1, south of the Tom Lantos Tunnel. The vehicle involved was a gray two-door sedan.
