Fatal Washington floatplane crash death of Ross Mickel – Obituary
Ross Mickel, along with nine others, tragically died in a floatplane crash in Washington’s Puget Sound, as confirmed by the U.S. Coast Guard. The search for the victims was suspended on Sunday following an extensive search effort.
The Coast Guard’s search covered approximately 2,100 square nautical miles through 26 missions before concluding.
Cmdr. Xochitl Castaneda of the Coast Guard extended condolences, saying, “Our deepest sympathies are with those who lost loved ones in this tragic event.”
Ross Mickel, along with his wife Lauren Hilty, their son Remy Mickel, and other passengers including Jason Winters, Patricia Hicks, Sandra Williams, Luke Ludwig, Rebecca Ludwig, Joanne Mera, and Gabrielle Hanna, perished in the crash. Only one body has been recovered so far, with no further details on the identity of the remains.
