The circumstances leading to Baisheva being on the tracks remain unclear, causing a delay in the train’s journey as authorities conducted their investigation.
This incident marks the third time since June that a train has fatally struck a pedestrian along the rail line adjacent to Mukilteo Boulevard. According to the Washington State Department of Transportation, there have been 15 fatalities on railroads in the state this year.
