The family of David Earley, a motorcyclist who tragically passed away following a crash near Devizes in Wiltshire, have described him as a “big kid with an adventurous spirit and a heart of gold.”
David, 67, from Melksham, was involved in a collision with a Citroen van while riding along the A342 Monument Hill shortly after 10:00 BST on 27 July.
Despite efforts to save him, Mr. Earley died at the scene of the accident. In a heartfelt tribute, his family shared their sorrow, saying it was with a “heavy heart” that they announced his passing. The tribute described David as a proud father, devoted partner, and loyal friend, beloved by many.
“David enjoyed a fulfilling career at Avon Tyres and spent his retirement doing what he loved—keeping active and engaged,” the tribute stated.
“He loved the outdoors and was frequently seen around Melksham running, cycling, and riding his motorbike with friends, always accompanied by an ice cream.”
“He was a big kid at heart with an adventurous spirit and a golden nature. David always found time for others and was there when you needed him most. His absence will be deeply felt. We request privacy as we cope with this tremendous loss.”
Wiltshire Police have expressed their condolences and support to the family during this difficult time.
