Fatal Valley Station car accident death of Dennis Mannell Jr. of Louisville Kentucky – Obituary
Dennis Mannell Jr., 61, lost his life Tuesday night after a car struck him while he was riding an electric mobility scooter in the Valley Station area. The incident occurred around 11:17 p.m. in the 10000 block of Deering Road.
Officers from the Third Division arrived at the scene and found Mannell, who was then transported to UofL Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office later confirmed his death was caused by blunt force trauma.
Preliminary details suggest that Mannell was operating a Hoveround-style scooter and was attempting to cross the road in a poorly lit area. The driver of the vehicle involved did not stay at the scene. The investigation into the accident is ongoing.
