Fatal Co Westmeath helicopter crash death of Niall Crosby – Obituary

Niall Crosby, a Dublin father of two, has been identified as the Irish individual who perished in Tuesday’s helicopter accident in County Westmeath.

Niall, an IT expert who resided in Glenageary with his wife and children, originally hailed from Straffan in County Kildare. Having worked for several years in London, he was also a co-founder of AG Grid.

At 46 years old, Mr. Crosby, along with his co-pilot, lost his life when their helicopter collided with a farm building near Killucan, Co Westmeath. Witnesses reported seeing the helicopter struggling before a significant explosion was heard.

The other victim in the crash, believed to be from the Czech Republic, has been formally identified. The Air Accident Investigation Unit is requesting anyone with footage or images of the helicopter before the crash to come forward.

In a statement, Mr. Crosby’s family expressed their gratitude for the condolences received over the past 24 hours.

They specifically thanked the first responders, authorities, and the communities of Killucan and Raharney for their support. The family also extended their thoughts to the co-pilot’s family during this sorrowful time.
