Fatal North Philadelphia shooting death of Raheem Jefferson – Obituary
Raheem Jefferson, a 43-year-old man, was tragically shot multiple times outside the Al-Aqsa Islamic Society in the Olde Kensington neighborhood of North Philadelphia on Tuesday just before 5 p.m., according to authorities.
The victim was swiftly transported to Temple Hospital by police, but unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arriving. At this stage, authorities have not recovered any weapons or made any arrests related to the incident.
The Philadelphia Police Department’s Homicide Unit is seeking assistance from the public. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact them at 215-686-3334 or to call/text the PPD’s tipline at 215-686-TIPS.
Tips can be given anonymously. As with all homicides in Philadelphia, there is a $20,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
Police statistics reveal that there have been 155 murders in Philadelphia so far this year, marking a 37% decrease compared to the same period last year.
