Fatal Fresno County vehicle collision death of Raymond Serpa – Obituary
An 84-year-old man who tragically lost his life earlier this week in a crash on a stretch of the I-5 in Fresno County has been identified by the Fresno County Coroner’s Office.
The victim, Raymond Serpa from the Sacramento area, was involved in the fatal incident near the intersection of I-5 and Nees Avenue, close to Firebaugh.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred on Monday around 8:30 p.m. The crash involved two vehicles, with one catching fire upon impact.
Investigators reported that Serpa was driving a 2005 Ford southbound on I-5 at Nees Avenue, traveling slowly in the number two lane. He made a sudden left turn, leading to a collision with the front of a 2012 Chevrolet heading in the opposite direction. The impact caused the Ford to ignite, and Serpa was pronounced dead at the scene.
