Fatal North Wales marina drowning death of Ruth Aled James – Obituary
An investigation has been launched following the tragic death of Ruth Aled James, 62, who was found deceased in the waters of Pwllheli Marina on March 27 this year.
Ruth, a boatowner from Pen yr Hwylfa, Llansannan in Conwy county, was discovered by emergency responders, but a paramedic confirmed her passing at the scene. A friend identified her to the authorities.
Senior Coroner Kate Robertson from north-west Wales reported that Ruth was a regular at the marina and had been with friends before being found in the water. “She had been with friends and was sadly found in the water,” Robertson noted.
A post-mortem examination has been requested to determine the cause of death. Robertson expressed concerns about the possibility of an unnatural cause and has postponed the inquest until further investigations are completed.
In the wake of this incident, the Clwb Hwylio Pwllheli Sailing Club expressed their profound sorrow at the loss of Ruth James, a well-known and cherished member of their community.
