Fatal Winston-Salem shooting death of Barry Bevionta Richardson – Obituary
On Thursday, Winston-Salem authorities launched a homicide probe following the discovery of a man who had been fatally shot in a vehicle.
According to a release from the Winston-Salem Police Department, officers were called to conduct a security check at 8 a.m. on the 1900 block of Leight Street.
Upon arrival, officers found a car with a deceased individual inside who had sustained gunshot wounds. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) confirmed the death of the victim, identified as Barry Bevionta Richardson, 32, from Winston-Salem.
The case is being treated as a homicide investigation. Authorities have indicated that this incident does not appear to be a random act of violence and is not connected to the ongoing search for 19-year-old Kaedian Tyshaun Allen, who was being sought in the same vicinity last month.
