Fatal Avondale shooting death of Therell K. “TJ” Jackson – Obituary

On Thursday, Clay County Sheriff’s officials identified the 17-year-old who was fatally shot on Tuesday night in what appears to be a drive-by shooting in Avondale. The victim has been named as Therell K. “TJ” Jackson, from Kansas City, Missouri.

The shooting occurred around 9 p.m. Tuesday in the 3200 block of NE Excelsior Street. Deputies responded to multiple 911 calls reporting the incident and found Therell with gunshot wounds. He was immediately transported to a nearby hospital but succumbed to his injuries.

In the wake of the shooting, the search for the suspect continues. Law enforcement has released additional images of a dark blue or black 1996-1998 Chevrolet Silverado, which is a 4X4 Z71 model with one headlight missing, in connection with the case.
