Carson Guymon dies in fatal Peoria County motorcycle crash

Fatal Peoria County motorcycle crash claims the life of Carson Guymon – Obituary

Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood has confirmed the identity of the man who passed away following a motorcycle crash on Interstate 74 East in late July. Carson Guymon, 20, lost his life due to “multiple severe blunt-force trauma injuries” sustained in the accident, according to a Facebook post from Harwood.

The incident occurred on July 29 around 3 p.m., when emergency crews were called to the scene of a motorcycle crash on the North Knoxville exit off-ramp of I-74 East. Upon arrival, responders found Guymon approximately 20 feet away from his motorcycle. It remains unclear if he was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Guymon was immediately transported to OSF Healthcare Saint Francis Medical Center in critical condition. He was found to be unresponsive and struggling to breathe. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, Guymon succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at 2 a.m. on August 4.

A toxicology report is pending, and the Illinois State Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
