Fatal Easley, S.C. shooting death of Cory Ryder Vickery – Obituary
The Pickens County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after 21-year-old Cory Ryder Vickery was found with fatal gunshot wounds on Saturday night.
Authorities reported that the incident took place on Donna Lane around 9:30 p.m.
A 911 call alerted deputies to the shooting. Upon arrival, they found Vickery suffering from gunshot wounds, with a woman attempting to provide life-saving aid. He was transported to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after.
Vickery, a resident of Easley, S.C., was identified by the county coroner.
Detectives have indicated that this appears to be an isolated incident, and there is no ongoing threat to the community based on their preliminary investigation.
The Pickens County Sheriff’s Office, in collaboration with the Coroner’s Office, continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding Vickery’s death.
