A suspect is now in custody following the fatal shooting of Dana Burks, 49, in Mount Oliver, Pennsylvania, on Saturday.
According to Allegheny County police, officers responded to reports of a shooting on the 100 block of Amanda Avenue at around 12:30 p.m., where Burks was found dead at the scene.
A photojournalist from Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 observed multiple police cruisers and officers actively investigating the area.Authorities revealed that Burks was shot in the doorway of his home, with six rounds fired in total.
The Allegheny County medical examiner later identified the victim as Dana Burks.
In a Sunday morning update, county police announced that 21-year-old Rasheed Horne had surrendered to authorities and is being charged with homicide in connection to the shooting.
The criminal complaint details that Horne had a confrontation with Burks, his stepfather, on Friday afternoon, which led to Horne being hospitalized.
Allegedly, Horne returned the following day and shot Burks in retaliation.Horne is currently detained in the Allegheny County Jail as he awaits arraignment.
