Fatal Virginia Beach car crash death of Francisco Bisono IV and Shawn Babonis – Obituary
A tragic single-vehicle accident took place early on July 31, at approximately 12:32 AM, at the intersection of Shipps Corner Rd. and Old Clubhouse Rd. in Virginia Beach, resulting in the deaths of two individuals. Officers from the Virginia Beach Police Department (VBPD) responded after an alert from Emergency Communications and Citizen Services (ECCS).
Upon arrival, the officers discovered the vehicle had collided with the tree line along the 2900 block of Shipps Corner Road. Inside, they found Francisco Bisono IV, 32, and Shawn Babonis, 49, both residents of Virginia Beach, trapped and unresponsive. They were declared dead at the scene.
The driver, Adam Cieniewicz, 36, also of Virginia Beach, had initially left the scene. A felony warrant for hit and run was issued, and he was later apprehended later that same day without incident.
The VBPD Traffic Safety Unit is actively investigating the crash, with expectations of additional charges. They are seeking public assistance for any information related to the incident. I want to send my heart felt condolences to the family. I to lost my son 11 years ago tomorrow, and it feels like yesterday!!! The city was supposed to fix that road after my son died. Now look, too late again!! 😭😭💔🙏
