Fatal New Bedford shooting death of Aaron Britto – Obituary
Authorities have released the identity of the New Bedford resident who was tragically shot and killed early Sunday morning in the Near North End of the city.
The Bristol County District Attorney’s Office reported that New Bedford Police responded to a 911 call at approximately 1:13 a.m. on August 4 from Earle Street, where residents had reported hearing gunfire. Upon arrival, officers discovered Britto suffering from severe injuries.
According to the District Attorney’s Office, the 44-year-old victim, Aaron Britto, was found in the grass area between Morna Lounge and Grill and the residence at 234 Earle Street.
Britto was transported urgently to St. Luke’s Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The investigation into the shooting remains active, with Massachusetts State Police, New Bedford Police, and Homicide Unit prosecutors all involved in the ongoing inquiry.
