Fatal Pontoon Beach motorcycle crash death of Cole Whitford – Obituary
Cole Whitford, 29, from Granite City, died in a tragic motorcycle accident near Pontoon Beach. The crash happened on Illinois Route 111 at Timberlake Drive about an hour after an earlier collision.
According to KMOV-4, Whitford was riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle southbound when it collided with the front driver’s side of a Chrysler Pacifica van.
The van was making a left turn from Timberlake Drive. Whitford was ejected from the motorcycle and, despite emergency medical attention, was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
