Fatal New Orleans stabbing death of Gary Rowe – Obituary
Gary Rowe, aged 43, was fatally shot by a security guard in New Orleans’ 7th Ward on Sunday after allegedly attacking and stabbing a woman in a wheelchair.
The incident occurred in the 1100 block of Elysian Avenue just before 4 p.m., where authorities found Rowe deceased on the sidewalk and the woman severely injured.
She was taken to a hospital by paramedics.In separate incidents, the Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office also identified Brandon Hayward, 32, who was killed by gunfire early Saturday in the St. Roch neighborhood.
Police found Hayward with multiple gunshot wounds in the 3100 block of St. Roch Avenue at 12:46 a.m., and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Additionally, London Scott, 64, was killed in a midday drive-by shooting in the Marigny on Sunday, July 28.
The shooting also resulted in the death of Khristopher Lewis, 31, and injuries to an 11-year-old boy.
Officers responded to the incident in the 1700 block of Joseph Guillaume Place, where Scott and the boy were found with gunshot wounds.
Both were transported to the hospital, with Scott in critical condition at the time. Further details from the police are pending.
