In a heart-wrenching incident in Boynton Beach, Florida, a high-speed police chase resulted in a tragic crash, claiming the lives of a pregnant woman and her mother.
On the evening of Tuesday, July 30, at approximately 8:10 p.m., Neoni Copeland, 23, was driving a Kia Stinger at excessive speed when he collided with a blue Toyota Corolla driven by 27-year-old Jenice Woods.
Authorities report that the crash occurred as Woods was making a turn. Following the collision, Copeland reportedly attempted to flee on foot but was soon captured by police officers who arrived at the scene.
Both Jenice Woods and her mother, Marcia Pochette, 57, were taken to the hospital, where they were pronounced dead. Jenice’s father and Marcia’s husband, Junel Pochette, informed CBS12 News that Jenice was two months pregnant at the time of the crash.
“We lost three lives that day: my daughter, my wife, and my future grandchild,” he said, conveying the family’s deep sorrow. “We were eagerly anticipating the arrival of a new grandbaby.”
The community is now mourning this tragic loss, which highlights the severe risks associated with high-speed driving.
