On Sunday night, a shooting on Abraham Drive resulted in one fatality and left three others injured. The deceased has been identified as 18-year-old Korey Sims Jr.
The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. at the end of Abraham Drive. Witnesses reported that a group of young individuals were gathered on a porch when an assailant approached and began shooting.
Sheriff Martin Pace stated that the three injured individuals are also 18 years old—two from Fayette and one from Vicksburg.
Sims, who had recently graduated from St. Aloysius where he excelled in basketball, is remembered fondly. The community is asked to keep his family in their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
