Jose Ocasio, a resident of Mansfield, has been identified as the victim of a tragic highway accident that occurred in Wrentham. On Friday, shortly after 5:30 p.m., Massachusetts State Troopers from the Foxborough Barracks were dispatched to the scene of a two-vehicle collision on Route 1.
Preliminary reports suggest that a 2014 Mercedes CLA sedan, traveling northbound on Route 1, attempted a sudden U-turn from the center lane. This maneuver led to a collision with another northbound vehicle in the leftmost lane, striking the driver’s side of the Mercedes.
Jose Ocasio, 50, was taken to a local hospital with severe injuries but was pronounced dead upon arrival. The driver of the other vehicle involved was unharmed.
Ocasio’s family expressed their profound grief, sharing that his loss has left a significant void in their lives. The incident is currently under investigation by Troop H of the Massachusetts State Police and the Norfolk County State Police Detective Unit.
