Fatal San Francisco shooting death of Jimmy Lee Thomas III – Obituary
The San Francisco Medical Examiner’s Office has identified Jimmy Lee Thomas III, 35, as the individual who was killed in a triple shooting that occurred on Monday night in the Mid-Market district. Authorities confirmed his identity on Wednesday.
On Monday at 10:49 p.m., officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert for gunfire in the 1000 block of Market Street. They discovered a man with a gunshot wound at the intersection of Sixth and Market streets while en route. This victim was rushed to a hospital with severe injuries.
Another man, injured nearby at Seventh and Stevenson streets, was also hospitalized but is expected to survive, according to police reports.
The third victim, later identified as Jimmy Lee Thomas III, was found in the 1000 block of Market Street. Despite being taken to the hospital, Thomas succumbed to his injuries. There have been no further updates on the conditions of the other two victims since the initial reports on Tuesday.
