Toronto authorities have identified Issaïh Jünger, an 18-year-old from Mississauga, as the victim of a deadly shooting that occurred early Tuesday morning in the west end of the city.
Jünger was discovered at approximately 1:28 a.m. near Lansdowne Avenue and Bloor Street W. with significant trauma to his body, according to a police report released on Wednesday.
Despite efforts to save him at the scene, which included life-saving measures, Jünger was pronounced dead shortly after being transported to the hospital by Toronto paramedics.
This incident marks Toronto’s fourth homicide of the year.
Earlier on Tuesday, another man in his 20s arrived at a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries around the same time as the fatal shooting. The connection between these two events remains unconfirmed.
Investigators are urging anyone who was driving in the vicinity at the time and has dashcam or surveillance footage to come forward.
