Fatal Caldwell car crash death of Jason Heinrichs – Obituary
The Ada County Coroner has identified the driver who passed away approximately two weeks after a tragic crash in Caldwell, Idaho, that also led to the miscarriage of his pregnant passenger.
Jason Heinrichs, 47, of Caldwell, was driving near the intersection of Middleton and Lincoln roads around 11 p.m. on July 22 when he was involved in a minor collision with another vehicle. Following the impact, Heinrichs’ car veered off the road, ending up in a ditch, according to a news release from the Caldwell Police Department.
Heinrichs succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash at 7:20 a.m. on the following Tuesday, as confirmed by the Ada County Coroner’s Office on Thursday. The coroner’s report attributed his death to “complications of blunt force trauma.”
The woman accompanying Heinrichs, who was 39 weeks pregnant, tragically lost her baby shortly after the incident, according to police.
Initially, the Caldwell Police Department indicated that charges were pending against Heinrichs. However, Caldwell police spokesperson Char Jackson later confirmed that no charges had been filed, and the investigation remains ongoing.
Fortunately, the occupants of the other vehicle involved in the crash were not injured.
