The Mobile Police Department has identified the driver killed in a fiery collision with an Amazon delivery truck as 41-year-old Marcie Morissette of Mobile.
The crash occurred on I-65’s southbound lanes near the I-10 interchange at approximately 12:55 a.m. on Tuesday.
Police reported that Morissette was driving a Dodge Charger northbound in the southbound lanes of I-65 when she collided with a semi-truck.
Morissette was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver of the semi-truck sustained minor injuries.
The crash ignited a fire that burned for several hours, causing lane closures on I-65 South.
