Fatal Kern County car crash claims life of Santos Antolin Cruz – Obituary
A 23-year-old man, Santos Antolin Cruz, of Wasco, tragically lost his life after his vehicle collided with an almond tree on Highway 43 on June 15.
The accident occurred at approximately 9:08 p.m., according to the Kern County coroner and the California Highway Patrol (CHP). Cruz was driving a Honda northbound on Highway 43, just north of Wasco Avenue, at an undetermined speed.
For reasons still unknown, the Honda suddenly veered left, crossing the southbound lanes of traffic before exiting the roadway. The vehicle continued in a northwesterly direction, ultimately crashing into an almond tree in a nearby orchard and overturning.
