Fatal Las Vegas drive-by shooting claims the lives of Efrain Guevara, 20, and Erick Roque, 18 – Obituary
Two teenage boys, both 16, are now in custody facing charges related to a deadly drive-by shooting that occurred last month in the northeast valley, taking the lives of two young men.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) confirmed the arrests on Thursday, noting that the teens were detained at the Clark County Detention Center. They are accused of involvement in the shooting, which took place shortly before midnight on July 13th in the 3000 block of Kaibab Avenue, near E. Owens Avenue and N. Mojave Road.
The victims, identified as Efrain Guevara, 20, and Erick Roque, 18, tragically lost their lives in the incident. Guevara was pronounced dead at the scene, while Roque succumbed to his injuries later at the hospital.
Because of the gravity of the crime and the suspects’ ages, Nevada law mandates that the two 16-year-olds be transferred to the adult criminal justice system.
The investigation is still ongoing, with authorities yet to disclose further details about the motive or the circumstances leading up to the shooting.
