Fatal Bonneville County car crash claims the life of 18-year-old Joshua Lindula – Obituary
On Friday night, a tragic two-vehicle collision in Bonneville County claimed the life of Joshua Lindula, an 18-year-old from Idaho Falls.
Four other individuals involved in the crash were transported to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
The Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office reported that the accident occurred around 11:30 p.m. near 17th South on 45th West.
When deputies and emergency crews arrived, they found two heavily damaged vehicles, one of which had overturned.
According to the sheriff’s office, a 2016 GMC Sierra pickup carrying three male adults was involved in the crash. All three were taken to the hospital with significant injuries.
The other vehicle, a 2003 Nissan, was driven by a 17-year-old male who also suffered severe injuries. Tragically, Joshua Lindula, a passenger in the Nissan, did not survive the collision.
Investigators determined that the GMC, traveling northbound on 45th West, attempted to turn left into a driveway and failed to yield to the southbound Nissan, resulting in the collision. The impact caused the GMC to overturn in a nearby field, while the Nissan came to a stop on the road.
