Fatal Muscatine, Iowa car crash claims the life of Darrell Allchin – Obituary
The Iowa State Patrol has identified the three victims involved in a deadly two-vehicle collision that occurred on Friday in Muscatine.
The crash took place at the intersection of U.S. 61 and Taylor Avenue at 5:54 p.m.
The incident involved a 2024 Nissan Rogue, driven by 53-year-old Marion Edwards of Muscatine, who was traveling southbound on Taylor Avenue.
Edwards failed to stop at a stop sign before attempting to merge onto U.S. 61, leading to a collision with a 2021 Dodge Durango driven by 26-year-old Allison Peirce, also of Muscatine. Peirce was heading south on U.S. 61 and was unable to avoid the crash.
Darrell Allchin, 48, of Muscatine, lost his life in the accident. Authorities have not yet confirmed which vehicle Allchin was in at the time of the crash.
Following the collision, Peirce was transported to UnityPoint Health – Trinity Muscatine by a private vehicle.
Meanwhile, Edwards was airlifted to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics by an AirCare Air Ambulance. As of Monday night, no updates on Edwards’ condition were available.
The Iowa State Patrol is continuing its investigation into the crash.
