Fatal Fresno County Go-Kart crash claims the life of Kenneth Owen – Obituary
Kenneth Owen, a 38-year-old resident of Kingsburg, lost his life early Friday morning after the Go-Kart he was driving on the street was struck by a vehicle in Fresno County.
The tragic incident occurred just after 6:30 a.m. near Mountain View Avenue, west of Peach Avenue. According to the California Highway Patrol, the Go-Kart, which was not street-legal and lacked lights or reflectors, was hit from behind by a Toyota Tacoma. The Go-Kart’s low profile made it difficult to spot, leading to the collision.
The impact resulted in critical injuries to Owen. Though the driver of the truck briefly stopped, they fled the scene without offering assistance. Fresno County Sheriff’s Deputies arrived swiftly and attempted life-saving measures, but Owen was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities have not yet identified or apprehended the driver of the Toyota Tacoma. Evidence at the scene points to a white 2012-2015 model with front-end damage.
Investigators are still determining whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash.
