Mark Myers, a 62-year-old man, was found deceased on Thursday evening in a surfboard bag at a property in Darkwood, located west of Coffs Harbour on New South Wales’ Mid North Coast. Myers is being remembered fondly by those close to him as a “gentle man with a generous soul.”
Lisa Marie Cummings, 35, has been charged with his murder and appeared in Coffs Harbour Local Court on Monday. She faces accusations of violating her bail conditions by allegedly committing additional offenses. The police believe the incident was related to domestic violence and that Myers and Cummings were acquainted.
Jessica Greene, Myers’ girlfriend, described him as having “the biggest heart” and noted that he was beloved by his neighbors, family, and friends. Gary Smith, a nearby resident, expressed surprise at the tragedy, noting that Myers seemed like a quiet, respectable individual who maintained his property well.
Cummings is scheduled to appear in court again on October 15.
