Fatal Argyle car crash claims the lives of three sisters, Odilia, Elia, and Gladis Orozco – Obituary
Three sisters, Odilia Orozco Gonzalez de Alvarez, 69, Elia Orozco, 65, and Gladis Orozco Gonzalez De Cifuentes, 63, have been identified as the victims in a tragic six-vehicle collision that occurred on I-35W in Argyle on Friday evening.
The crash took place shortly after 6:45 p.m. when emergency responders were called to the scene on the northbound lanes of I-35W near Crawford Road. Six individuals were transported to hospitals in Denton, and sadly, three of them succumbed to their injuries. As a result of the crash, the northbound lanes of I-35W were closed for over four hours while authorities conducted their investigation and cleared the scene.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s office confirmed the identities of the deceased but did not specify the hometowns of Odilia and Gladis. It was noted, however, that Elia Orozco was a resident of Northlake.
Central American media outlets have reported that the three women were siblings of Efrain Orozco, a former Guatemalan vice-presidential candidate. Carlos Pineda, who was Efrain’s running mate, expressed his sorrow and condolences in a social media post.
