Fatal Iron County semi-truck crash claims the life of 28-year-old Payton Roberts – Obituary
In the early morning hours of August 18, a tragic accident occurred on I-15 near milepost 85 in Iron County, Utah, just north of Parowan. Two semi-trucks were traveling northbound when one collided with the other, causing one of the vehicles to overturn. Payton Roberts, the driver of the overturned semi, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Utah Highway Patrol (UHP) identified Payton Roberts, 28, as the victim of the fatal rollover crash that happened about a week ago.
According to UHP’s Cpl. Haley Scheer, for reasons still under investigation, the rear semi-truck struck the one in front of it, causing the rear truck to veer off the right shoulder and roll over.
No further details about the incident have been released by authorities at this time.
