Fatal San Jose Highway 85 crash death of Charles George Olsen – Obituary
A 14-year-old boy named Charles George Olsen has been identified as the victim who died in a crash on Highway 85 in San Jose on Monday, according to the County of Santa Clara Medical Examiner/Coroner. The collision occurred around 3:40 p.m. when a truck traveling the wrong way collided with the Tesla Model Y carrying Olsen and another individual. Both victims died at the scene. Rebecca Olsen, a 47-year-old woman from San Jose, was also killed in the crash.
The driver of the truck, Duncan McQuarrie, a 39-year-old from Orlando, Florida, sustained major injuries and was taken to the hospital. It is currently unclear if he will face any charges. A dashcam video from a witness on the highway showed the truck driving against traffic. The involvement of drugs or alcohol in the incident has not yet been determined.
