Gregory Sherman Jr., a 39-year-old pickup truck driver, was tragically killed in a collision with a semi-truck in Lancaster. The accident occurred around 11 p.m. Monday at the intersection of 30th Street West and Avenue G.
According to initial reports, the semi-truck, driven north on 30th Street West, was making a left turn onto Avenue G when Sherman’s blue pickup, traveling east on Avenue G, crashed into its rear. The impact resulted in severe trauma to Sherman, who was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders from the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner confirmed Sherman’s identity on Wednesday. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
