Fatal Colorado River drowning death of Jose Gonzalez-Juarez – Obituary
The body of 44-year-old Jose Gonzalez-Juarez was recovered after a drowning incident at the Colorado River over the weekend, as confirmed by federal authorities. Reports of the drowning were received by rangers from the Lake Mead National Recreation Area shortly before 6 p.m. on Sunday, with the incident occurring at Nelson’s Landing. National Park Service spokesperson John Haynes relayed that the body was retrieved by rangers and subsequently handed over to the Clark County Coroner’s Office. The cause of death was officially determined to be drowning. Nelson’s Landing is situated approximately 35 miles south of Boulder City, on the Nevada side of the Colorado River, just north of Lake Mohave.
