FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – The Allen County Coroner has identified the 18-year-old victim of a shooting that occurred two days ago near downtown Fort Wayne. Parker James Eugene Billman of Fort Wayne was named as the deceased, with his death classified as a homicide.
The Fort Wayne Police Department launched an investigation into the shooting, which took place Tuesday night on the 600 block of Lewis Street, close to Hanna Street. Billman was discovered with multiple gunshot wounds near a local business. Despite being rushed to the hospital with severe injuries, he was later pronounced dead.
As of now, the police have not released any details about a suspect and have stated that there is no current threat to the public. The investigation into the homicide is ongoing.
