Shaun Brady, an Irish chef renowned in Kansas City, has been identified as the victim of a fatal shooting that occurred yesterday evening. Brady, 45, originally from County Tipperary, had been living in the United States for several years.
According to Missouri police, officers responded to a shooting report at 5:18 p.m. in the 63rd and Rockhill area. They found Brady, who had been shot and was located in a parking lot behind several businesses. Despite immediate efforts by officers to save his life and subsequent transport to a local hospital, Brady was pronounced dead upon arrival.
The incident is being investigated as a homicide. Preliminary findings suggest that Brady was taking out the trash when he encountered several individuals near a vehicle, leading to a confrontation that resulted in the shooting. Authorities are currently interviewing witnesses and reviewing surveillance footage, while crime scene investigators have gathered physical evidence from the scene.
Brady was well-regarded in the Irish ex-pat community and co-owned Brady & Fox Restaurant & Lounge with fellow chef Graham Farris. He was also a familiar face on local television, frequently appearing on FOX4 to promote Irish cuisine at events like Irish Fest.
