**Fatal Omaha shooting death of Cameron Ford – Obituary**
Omaha authorities have released the names involved in a deadly shooting that occurred Wednesday morning. Cameron Ford, 37, from Omaha, was identified as the victim in this incident.
The shooting took place during the execution of a search warrant for narcotics and weapons at a property near 78th and Redick streets. Due to Ford’s criminal background, the Omaha police SWAT team was requested for support.
Officer Adam Vail, who has been with the SWAT team since March 2023 and has participated in over 120 high-risk warrant operations, discharged his firearm during the confrontation. Despite immediate CPR efforts by officers on the scene, Ford was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.
Vail has been placed on administrative leave in accordance with protocol and will be interviewed at a later date. The case will be reviewed by a grand jury, as is standard procedure when a death occurs during law enforcement operations.
