**Fatal Piscataqua River Bridge shooting death of Trent Weston – Obituary
Authorities from Maine and New Hampshire have identified Trent Weston, 37, of Troy, New Hampshire, as the man fatally shot by state troopers on the Piscataqua River Bridge early Thursday morning. Weston’s wife, Brittany, and their 8-year-old son, Benson, were also found dead from gunshot wounds at separate locations.
The Maine Office of the Chief Medical Examiner confirmed that Weston died from multiple gunshot wounds sustained during the officer-involved shooting. The medical examiner also ruled that Benson’s death was a homicide, noting that he had been fatally shot and was discovered in the back of his father’s vehicle. Officials stressed that Benson’s death did not result from police gunfire.
New Hampshire’s Associate Medical Examiner revealed that Brittany Weston, also 37, was the victim of a homicide and died from multiple gunshot wounds as well. Trent Weston had contacted York Police shortly after 2:05 a.m. on Thursday, reporting that he had been involved in a fight with his wife in Troy, New Hampshire, and that she was dead.
New Hampshire State Police responded to an apartment at 359 Monadnock Street in Troy around 3 a.m., where they found Brittany Weston deceased. The distance between the incident in Troy and the Piscataqua River Bridge is approximately 95 miles.
