In a tragic incident on Saturday night in Greenville, one teenager was killed and another injured in a shooting.
The Greenville Police Department reported that at approximately 10:20 p.m., officers responded to a call on Mulberry Street about a shooting. Upon arrival, they discovered two teenagers with gunshot wounds.
Both teens were rushed to the hospital. While a 16-year-old victim sustained injuries that were not life-threatening, 17-year-old Andre Udonus Nicholson was in critical condition.
The Greenville County Coroner’s Office later confirmed Nicholson’s death early Sunday morning.
Authorities have detained 18-year-old Corey Russ, who was present at the scene and charged with drug possession. However, it is anticipated that additional charges will be filed against him. The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
