**Fatal Hebron UTV crash death of Bryan Dahm – Obituary
Bryan Dahm, aged 36 from Woodstock, died in a high-speed UTV crash near Hebron on Saturday evening. The incident occurred when the UTV veered off Thayer Road, hit a utility pole, and brought down power lines, leading to a fire.
According to the McHenry County Coroner, Dr. Michael Rein, Dahm succumbed to thermal injuries following an autopsy conducted on Monday. The crash, which happened around 10:50 p.m., involved a UTV driven by a 40-year-old Harvard man. The vehicle, traveling at high speed, rolled over multiple times, ejecting the driver and eventually catching fire after coming to rest upright in a ditch.
Emergency responders from multiple fire departments and medical units were dispatched to the scene. The driver and Dahm were pronounced dead at the site. The third passenger, a 35-year-old from San Carlos, California, sustained minor injuries but refused medical treatment.
Preliminary investigations suggest alcohol may have contributed to the accident. The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Major Crash Investigation Unit and the Coroner’s Office are continuing to investigate, with the identification of the 40-year-old driver still pending further testing.
