A tragic house fire in Cleveland early Thursday morning resulted in the death of 1-year-old Chosen Marks Wright. The incident occurred in the 13300 block of Marston Avenue. According to the Cleveland Division of Fire, the child was discovered on the second floor in full cardiac arrest before being transported to MetroHealth Medical Center, where she later passed away.
The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office has confirmed the identity of the victim. Additionally, fire officials reported that a woman had jumped from the second-floor porch during the blaze.
No injuries to firefighters were reported, although a second adult was taken to MetroHealth in stable condition. The fire caused an estimated $200,000 in damage, and the cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
