Fatal Maryland home shooting death of Crimea Baker – Obituary
Authorities in Maryland are investigating the tragic shooting death of Crimea Baker and Sean Lange, who were killed in their home on August 25.
The victims were targeted with over 40 shots while four children were present, though they were unharmed.
At around 7:00 AM on August 25, deputies were dispatched to a residence on Mandalong Court in New Market, where they discovered the victims in an upstairs bedroom, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
The incident is believed to have occurred around 1:30 AM, as per preliminary investigations.
Sheriff Chuck Jenkins has identified the deceased as 33-year-old Crimea Baker and 34-year-old Sean Lange.
Baker was the mother of all four children, and Lange was the father of one of them. Both were reportedly living together at the time of the shooting.
The police suspect that the attack was deliberate and are treating it as a double murder rather than a murder-suicide. Shell casings found at the scene suggest that the shots were fired from close range.
“This crime reflects a deep-seated rage and is shocking for the community,” said Sheriff Jenkins. Authorities have yet to identify any suspects and do not believe there is an ongoing threat to the public.
The sheriff’s office is seeking assistance from the public, particularly anyone who may have surveillance footage from the vicinity between 11 PM on August 24 and 3 AM on August 25.

In response to the tragedy, Jennifer Duncan, a close friend of Baker, has launched a fundraiser to support the four surviving children.
The campaign has already raised over $100,000 to help the children stay together.
