Fatal Gary shooting death of Deon Hawkins – Obituary
An Indianapolis man, Deon Hawkins, aged 33, was fatally shot on August 26 in Gary, Indiana.
Hawkins, a resident of the 4900 block of Brock Street in Indianapolis, was pronounced dead from his injuries at Methodist Hospital Northlake campus at 11:19 a.m., according to the Lake County Coroner’s Office. The shooting occurred in the 5000 block of West 19th Place.
The incident is being investigated by the Lake County Sheriff’s Department Crime Scene Investigation unit and the Lake County Prosecutor’s Homicide Task Force, who are collaborating with the Gary Police Department.
