Fatal Queens moped crash death of Giselle Flores and Andy Rodriguez – Obituary
A tragic accident early Saturday morning on the Cross Island Parkway in Queens claimed the lives of a 19-year-old woman and a 15-year-old boy.
Authorities identified the victims as Giselle Flores and Andy Rodriguez, both from Flushing.
The crash occurred near 149th Street at around 2 a.m. when the moped they were on lost control and struck a wall, causing them to be thrown onto the highway.
Police responding to a 911 call discovered Flores unconscious beside the moped and pronounced her dead at the scene.
Rodriguez was taken to Flushing Hospital Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Investigations revealed that Rodriguez was driving the moped when he lost control. Officers are currently seeking surveillance footage to shed more light on the accident.
