The Butler County Coroner’s Office has named the three victims of a tragic accident that occurred in West Chester on Sunday evening. The collision, which took place around 6 p.m. on Cox Road close to Service Center Drive, resulted in a prolonged traffic halt due to the ongoing investigation.
According to officials, two separate crashes involving a wrong-way driver were reported around the same time. Initially, the wrong-way driver collided with a vehicle near the VOA Shopping Center, but no injuries were reported from that incident. The driver then continued on and struck another vehicle near Service Center Drive, which led to the fatalities.
The Butler County coroner later identified the deceased as 65-year-old Gregory Meyer from Middletown, 52-year-old Patrick Michael Pelton, and 52-year-old Nicole Collins, both from Liberty Township. Nicole Collins was recognized by the Ross Local School District as Nicole Pelton, who had been a dedicated teacher at Ross Middle School for 22 years.
The crash involved three vehicles, leaving them extensively damaged. One vehicle was found overturned on the roadside.
